Cincinnati’s MusicNOW Festival Is Back This March 18 - 20
I’m very happy to announce that Cincinnati’s MusicNOW Festival is back for it’s 11th season this March 18-20. By keeping the festival small, using volunteers and creating a family vibe we’ve built something of a refuge for creativity here. Over the years, MusicNOW has invited contemporary musicians and risk-taking artists who do not fit neatly into genre defined categories, and we will continue that tradition this year. This year’s weekend-long series will feature The Punch Brothers, Sam Amidon, Luluc and Chris Thile, as well as performances by the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Musical America Artist of the Year Jenny Koh, and Composer-in-Residence and Pultizer Prize winner Julia Wolfe. The weekend will also include a special world premiere version of my piece Aheym, performed by the CSO and Kronos Quartet, as well as the U.S. premiere of my piece Reponse Lutoslawski, performed by the CSO.
MusicNOW has been an incredibly special and significant part of my musical life for over a decade now and I hope you’ll be able to make it. The full line-up and tickets are available here. Stay tuned for updates and additions.
