Inside the Kronos Quartet Playing Aheym
The New York Times has published an amazing interactive feature exploring how quartets communicate. Using 3D-data capture to render the Kronos Quartet as "dot clouds" they investigate how cueing and body language establish rhythms. One of the pieces they use to explore the intricacies of performing as an ensemble is my composition "Aheym." Watch Kronos Quartet play and discuss the piece here.
